HDMI — HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

Mine was purchased at Circuit City exactly 3 1/2 years ago (similar to another person here). Today it made a loud bang from behind the set and was accompanied by an electrical burning smell. The screen faded to almost black. I called a repair center today and based on what happened, the repair guy says it is probably a driver board and will cost anywhere from $300-$600 to fix.

If you know you were to live for just another 2 yrs, this is the TV for you. It will work for exactly 2 yrs and the picture will die soon thereafter. Imagine this – after your funeral, your son-in-law will have his buddies over to his house to watch football on his new big-screen Plasma, just to realize the TV is dead. He calls HP tech support who are going to charge $650 to come take a look with no guarantee on fixing anything. Imagine the look on his face when handed over that bill. That is what he deserves for turning your little girl against you.

Customer Review: +2 year living with the Panasonic Plasma
I purchased this set over 2 years ago (for $1280 total in Feb 07) to replace my old Panasonic 32in CRT TV. This was my 1st step into the HDTV world and I researched my plasma/LCD choices for many months before deciding on this particular model. It was hard to compare models at the department stores because none of the sets are calibrated correctly and the store lighting was too bright.
